The German researcher von Kleist and the Dutch physicist van Musschenbroek experimented more than 250 years ago, with glass bottles. The glass was used as the dielectric and to the interior and exterior of the bottle a metal foil was applied. Both researchers found that this setup was able to store electrical energy.
In this first part you get to know the most important characteristics of capacitors in simple circuits. In ten experiments you realize how a capacitor is charged and how it releases the energy again.
The second part contains four additional experiments. They demonstrate where and how capacitors are applied.
