All traditional potentiometer consist of a resistor and a wiper that makes an electrical contact. The position of the wiper on the resistor determines the characteristics of the potentiometer. With the increasing digitization a new class of potentiometers, the digital potentiometer, came on the market, whose internal functioning is very different from traditional of potentiometer.
In this first part you get to know the most important features of the potentiometer. In ten experiments, you see, how a potentiometer can be used as a variable resistor and voltage divider.
The second part contains another six experiments. In these you get to know the most important applications of potentiometers. In addition, you learn to use a digital potentiometer.
