Let's go...

A counter is basically a memory. With each signal at the input, the memory content changes by one step.

Different circuits are grouped in the class of counters...

  • synchronous counter,
  • asynchronous counter,
  • up counter,
  • down counter,
  • ring counter,
  • Decade counter,
  • Johnson counter and some more.

All these counters have different characteristics with each different applications.

In this first part you learn how to set up the different counters. In 16 experiments you build counters from flip-flops and logic gates.

In the second part (Go on...) you are working in another 6 experiments with pre-programmed adder IC's building some applications.
