When you look up the term "Shift Register" in a book or on Wikipedia, you find an answer that goes something like: "A shift register consists of a chain of flip-flops, which pushes with each clock signal one storage unit along to the next flip-flop". If you have never worked with shift registers before, it is unlikely you have become smarter by reading this.
In the following experiments you get to know shift registers. In this first part you learn how to set up the different shift registers. In 12 experiments you build different shift registers using flip-flops and logic gates.
In the second part (Go on...) you are working in another 10 experiments with pre-programmed shift registers building applications.
