Experiment 6 - The 2-bit Shift Register
For a 2-bit shift register you connect two D flip-flops in a chain.
Now you are able to "shift" a stored value through the chain...
Take a look at the circuit diagram of the 2-bit shift register.
The output Q1
of the first flip-flop is connected directly to the
D input of the second flip-flop...
Both flip-flops are connected directly to the clock signal
all flip-flop switch synchronously.

By pressing the
Clk push button switch
you trigger a clock signal...
At the first clock signal, the value
is stored and displayed at
At the second clock signal, the value of
Q1 is stored at the
second flip-flop and displayed at
At the same time a new value
is stored and displayed at Q1.
You have "shifted" the stored value by one
flip-flop to the right...
In the next experiment, you expand the chain...
