Experiment 1 - The Electric Circuit

Build the circuit shown...

Circuit diagram simple circuit.

Warning

Perform the experiments only with resistors of the power class of 5 Watts!

Resistors of lower power classes become very hot and may burn out.

As soon as you connect the battery, the resistor heats up slightly.

At the resistor a voltage is applied and a resulting current flows through the resistor. The electric energy turns into heat.

You now have indirectly concluded that a voltage is applied and a current flows. But how big is the voltage and current? In order to find out you need a voltmeter and an ammeter...
