Experiment 6 - The Darlington Transistor

When you consider the Darlington pair you realize that the circuit can be regarded as one transistor. This "new" transistor has a base, collector and emitter and is characterized by a high current gain.

An example of a Darlington transistor is the BC517.

Setting up the circuit shown, you quickly realize that the Darlington transistor BC 517 has very similar characteristics to the Darlington pair.

In the next experiments, you build on the Darlington pair with PNP transistors.
