Introduction Schmitt-Trigger

A Schmitt trigger circuit compares voltages. Depending on which voltage is higher, the circuit switches between two states back and forth. However, the circuit has a special feature that is important for many applications.

Unlike normal voltage comparators, in a Schmitt trigger circuit, the thresholds are not at the same point. The Schmitt trigger circuit shows a hysteresis.
