Experiment 7 - The Voltage Divider

Replace the resistor R1 by a 2.2 kΩ resistor. The voltage that you measure at R1 is now 6.2 volt.

With the right resistors the voltage divider generates any voltage that is lower than the voltage of the battery.

This solution has one drawback. You can use it only when not much power is "consumed". If you want to connect an electric motor or a light bulb to the circuit, you need other solutions.
