Introduction Diode

Diodes are the simplest semiconductor devices. They let current pass in one direction. In the reverse direction, however, they block the current. This feature makes the diode an extremely useful and widely used component. But there are other useful characteristics.

On the following pages you get to know diodes. You build simple circuits to demonstrate their main characteristics. Then you go on to other circuits with diodes that show you where and how they are applied in everyday circuits.
