Experiment 1 - The Variables of the Boolean Algebra

Boolean algebra works with variables , A, B, C, etc. The variables can take only two values: "TRUE" and "FALSE", or usually "1" and "0".

You can picture the behavior of a Boolean variable as an open or closed switch and register the result Q in a truth table...

• Open switch:  A = 0,
• Closed switch: A = 1. 

In electronics, one does not speak of variables and their values, but of Boolean signals or digital signals...

• Q = 1: LED1 lights up.
